Benefits to your Health

Bee Green at Briarhill Shopping Centre (next door to KFC) is the first professional garment cleaner in Ireland to offer a revolutionary, safe, environmentally friendly, option for cleaning clothes. The 100 per cent non-toxic cleaning service ensures that your clothes are safely and thoroughly cleaned. Bee Green only uses detergents that are fully bio-degradable, making them good for you, your clothes, the environment, and future generations. And of course the most important point is that it is no more expensive in fact when you take into account the broader benefits for your safety, it is a positive saving for all.

As our service is so environmentally friendly, and as people are making conscious decisions not to use harmful chemicals, we did extensive research across Europe and America in search of a better and less harmful process than dry cleaners are currently using, said Paul Langan of Bee Green. During our research we accidentally happened to be watching The Early Show on CBS News in 2007. We were shocked to learn of some of the dangers associated with dry cleaning solvents such as perchloroethylene (PERC), etc, and the fact that several American states had banned its use. This made us think even harder and led us to do much research to find a safe and a more positive solution. I am glad to say that we found it and that we can stand proudly on our Bee Green mission statement our detergents are safe for you, safe for your clothes, and safe for the environment. Bee Green has four branches, located in Briarhill Shopping Centre in Galway, and Westport, Castlebar, Belmullet in Co Mayo. Benefits to your Garments

Wet Cleaning is a water based, non-toxic, energy efficient technology that uses computer controlled washers and dryers and high tech finishing equipment to clean garments that are normally dry cleaned.

Using specially formulated biodegradable detergrents, clothing is cleaned in washers that limit water absorption and monitor both agitation and temperature. After being totally dried, garments are formed on specialized equipment and custom hand finish.

Inlike dry cleaners that use toxic solvents - we clean your fine fabrics in fresh water with non polluting detergents. The result is clean, fresh smelling clothes that are soft to the touch and kind to sensitive skin. All garments labelled as "Dry Clean Only" can be effectively cleaned using our wet cleaning system. So whether you have Cashmere or Cotton, Angora or Armani - you can trust us to bring out the best in your fine clothes.

Benefits to the Environment

Most garments labeled dry clean only can be cleaned with water through a process called wet-cleaning. This is a time-intensive process that takes some skill and special equipment. The trick to professional wet cleaning is the computerized operations that allow for precise control when cleaning garments.

The EPA considers it one of the safest professional cleaning methods; its benefits include no hazardous chemical use, no hazardous waste generation, no air pollution and reduced potential for water and soil contamination. In terms of its impact on water and energy consumption, a comprehensive study by UCLA found that wet cleaning has only a minor impact on water use and that it uses slightly less electricity.

Through research we discovered the dangers of the toxic chemical used in traditional drycleaners. The toxic chemical used is "perc" and has serious consequences to both the people working with it and the wearing it in the finished garments. It also has a detrimental effect on our environment, even living close to a traditional drycleaners is not to be recommended.
